Money that moves at your pace.

Vaart is a cooperative bank for people who invoice rather than get paid. Irregular income, plain language, and a share of the bank in your name.

Deposits protected to €100,000 under the Belgian and Dutch guarantee schemes.

Why we exist

Freelance income is not a salary, and most banks still can’t tell the difference.

Three good months and a quiet one is a normal year, not a red flag. But the overdraft, the credit assessment and the mortgage conversation are all built for the person with the same number landing on the 25th. We built the other bank. Vaart reads a year, not a month.

Invoiced

Ochre line: €2,800 paid to yourself each month. Same year, same money.

Smoothing

Set the number you want to pay yourself each month. Vaart holds back the good months and tops up the quiet ones from your own buffer. It's your money, on a schedule you chose.

Tax, set aside

Every payment in, a share moves quietly to a separate pot. When the VAT return lands, the money is already there.

Credit that reads the year

Lending is assessed on twelve months of real income, and a person reads the file. You get a decision with reasons attached.

Ownership

You don’t have a bank. You have a share of one.

A single share costs €50 and makes you a member. Members elect the board, sit on the credit committee and vote on what Vaart does with its surplus. There are no outside shareholders, which means there is nobody here to sell you a product you don’t need.
